Two More Days!
Ok, even though the original intent was for this blog to be a place where WE could SHARE our thoughts, etc., seems like we've got a bunch of lookie loos and two contributors... Not that I'm griping/whining... I was just hoping this would be more than one-way communication. What's going on in Morro Bay and Dark Hollow?
Ok, 'nuff said. The last couple of weeks have been interesting. First, a quick trip to the Renaissance Faire. I can't believe how elaborate the costumes were - and not just for the people working there. Seemed like every other person dressed up. I bought this really cool mobile with a glass ball that appears to be levitating...
Since then, it's been a progression of end of the year activities. Last week, I gave my final for Calculus, leaving me one class to teach till the end of the year. We also had our Spring Sports Award ceremony - we had three girls make all-league, which was a nice surprise. Last weekend was a chance to relax and take it easy - I fired up the BBQ for the first time in months. (Thanks, Brian, for the propane tank!)
This week started off with our softball team party. I put together the slide show, which went over pretty well. Turns out I went to school with the stepfather of the girl who hosted the party. And he was kind enough to show the girls our high school yearbook. Ouch! What happened to that young stud?
Yesterday was a long, painful CPR certification class after school. Now that I think about it, why didn't I just have my ever-so-wonderful sister give me the class while I'm up there for the 4th? I'm sure I could have paid with a little Dark Hollow labor...
This weekend I leave for our senior trip - this year it's at a YMCA camp in the Santa Cruz mountains, just west of Stanford. Very different from our white water rafting trips (much tamer activities), so we're all a little apprehensive... Not to mention a very long bus ride! (A drive I'm intimately familiar with... lunch at Harris Ranch, anyone?) Gone from Sunday to Thursday, returning just in time to grade my finals...
Yes, the end of the year -hard to believe it's gone by so fast. And former students are starting to show up. Including some that have just graduated from college! Wow...
Speaking of nostalgia, I figured I'd end with this strip - which of us hasn't had that Brady Bunch episode conversation?
