Milestones...
Ok, so I haven't posted in awhile... This last week has been one of milestones - I attended the wedding of a good friend I met about 4 years ago while country dancing on Saturday. The wedding was in Huntington Beach, then the reception took place on a boat in the Newport Beach harbor. A small ceremony, but very nice. Here's the happy couple and some of the wedding party (also friends I made while dancing):
Next, the really big milestone! Last night, I tipped the odometer:
That's right - 100,000 miles. In almost exactly 5 years... Yes, Mom, I know you've got considerably less, and your car is even older than mine. Retirement certainly has its advantages, doesn't it?
So that's the exciting times down here in SoCal. I also spent some time down in Santa Monica last Friday with Nancy Hawley, one of Rich's swimmers. Showed her some of the sites around town, since she's been stuck in Manhattan Beach with her grandparents since she moved down here to start school in a couple of weeks. She said she had a good time, but how much fun can an 18-year-old have with 40-year-old fuddy duddy who gets excited about his odometer?
